TCU players wore a purple jersey, white pants and a purple helmet. It was the first time the Horned Frogs wore this combination since their 47-41 triple-overtime victory over Oregon in the 2016 Valero Alamo Bowl.
Here come the Wildcats (photos above and below)!
TCU captains were (from left to right) Kellton Hollins (#55), Arico Evans (#7), honorary captain Victor Payne, Jaelan Austin (#2) and Ben Banogu (#15).
In his second career start, sophomore TCU quarterback Michael Collins (#10, photos above and below) completed 17 of 33 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. He completed passes to eight different receivers in the Frogs' 14-13 win over Kansas State.
TCU quarterback Michael Collins (#10, photos above and below) carried the football seven times for 22 yards. He was not sacked and he did not throw an interception.
TCU running back Darius Anderson (#6, photos above and below) was the leading rusher for the Horned Frogs. He carried the football 13 times for 48 yards against Kansas State. He scored one touchdown (photo below), on a four-yard run early in the first quarter.
What a difference a week makes!
(photo above) On Saturday, October 27, during the Kansas game in Lawrence, TCU running back Darius Anderson (#6) had to be consoled by TCU offensive lineman Kellton Hollins (#55) after Anderson fumbled inside the Kansas 10-yard line as the Frogs were driving late in the fourth quarter for the potential go-ahead touchdown or tying field goal. The Frogs eventually lost to the Jayhawks, 27-26.
(photo below) A week later, on Saturday, November 3, during the Kansas State game in Fort Worth, Hollins (#55) was helping Anderson (#6) celebrate his first-quarter touchdown run, which helped the Frogs defeat the Wildcats, 14-13.

TCU running back Sewo Olonilua (#33, photos above and below) only carried the football two times against Kansas State, for a total of three yards rushing. Against the Wildcats, the Frogs' running game only tallied 57 net yards rushing. The rushing total was TCU's fewest in a win since totaling 54 in a 2012 victory at SMU.
TCU quarterback Michael Collins had to have his right hand tended to by trainers during the game against Kansas State. Collins played the entire game, throwing one touchdown pass.
TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor (#1, photos above and below) was the recipient of TCU quarterback Michael Collin's one touchdown pass. It was a 67-yard strike in the third quarter that gave the Frogs a 14-7 lead and ultimately proved to be the game-winner when Kansas State failed in the fourth quarter to convert the extra point kick after its second touchdown of the game.
TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor (#1) receives congratulations from corerback Julius Lewis (#24) after Reagor's 67-yard touchdown reception. The
play was TCU's longest pass play of the season and fifth of at least 50
yards. Reagor has been on the receiving end for three of them. The
67-yard touchdown catch was the second-longest of Reagor's career,
trailing only a 93-yard score in last year's Valero Alamo Bowl. It was
the 14th touchdown catch of his career, leaving him one shy of Stephen
Shipley (15, 1989-92) for sixth on TCU's all-time list. Reagor had three
receptions in the game for 92 yards, giving him at least one catch in
his last 14 games for the longest current streak by a Horned Frog. He
has a reception in 22 of his 23 contests at TCU. Reagor has receiving
touchdowns in four consecutive games. Prior to Reagor, teammate Jaelan
Austin (#2, photo below) was the last Frog with such an effort, recording touchdowns
against SMU, Kansas, Oklahoma and West Virginia in 2016.
TCU wide receiver Jarrison Stewart gets his ankle taped during the Kansas State game. Against the Wildcats, Stewart equaled a season-high with five receptions for a season-best 54 yards. His career-high is six catches versus Baylor last season.
TCU senior wide receiver Tevailance Hunt (#9) didn't have an opportunity to catch the football on this play against Kansas State.
The tight defensive battle between TCU and Kansas State took its toll on TCU head coach Gary Patterson (photos above and below).
TCU head coach Gary Patterson worked hard with his defensive players (photos above and below) throughout the TCU-Kansas State game. The Horned Frogs' defense held the Wildcats to 13 points, 275 yards of offense and a 5-of-16 mark on third-down conversions. The Frogs recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass.
TCU's defense, including linebackers Jawuan Johnson (#1, photo above) and Arico Evans (#7, photo above) and safety Ridwan Issahaku (#31, photo below), recorded 80 total tackles against Kansas State, its most since a 96-tackle effort against Texas Tech in 2016. K-State running back Alex Barnes (#34, photos above and below) was the Wildcats' lone offensive bright spot. He rushed for 102 yards on 23 carries.
Johnson tied for TCU's team lead with 10 tackles in the game. It's the third consecutive game he's either set or equaled a TCU career-high in stops. Johnson also had his first fumble recovery as a Horned Frog and the fourth of his career.
Skylar Thompson (#10, photo above) was Kansas State's starting quarterback against TCU, but after completing one of two passes, he left the game early in the first quarter because of an injury (photo below).
Kansas State's Alex Delton (#5, photos above and below) replaced the injured Skylar Thompson. He was under pressure the entire game, including from Garret Wallow (#30), Jawuan Johnson (#1), Arico Evans (#7) and Corey Bethley (#94).

Colier (#91), safety Ridwan Issahaku (#31), defensive end Ben Banogu (#15) and defensive tackle Terrell Cooper (#95) battered K-State quarterback Alex Delton (#5). The Frogs equaled a season-high with four sacks (TCU also had four sacks against SMU and Texas Tech).
High-Achieving Defensive Backfield: TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney (#12), safety Markell Simmons (#3), cornerback Julius Lewis (#24), safety Ridwan Issahaku (#31) and safety Vernon Scott (#26). Gladney set a career-high with 10 tackles, including a career-best three for loss. He had his first career sack and forced fumble on the same play. Simmons had his first interception of the season and second of his career. Lewis had four tackles. Issahaku had his first sack of the season and third of his career. Scott made his first career start and tied his career high with eight tackles, matching his total at Texas earlier this season.
After TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney recorded his first career sack and forced fumble on a corner blitz, TCU linebacker Jawuan Johnson (#1) had his first fumble recovery as a Horned Frog and the fourth of his career.
Kansas State kicker Blake Lynch (#10, photos above and below) was set to try a short field goal attempt against the Frogs, but a mishandled snap led to Kansas State holder Colby Moore (#19, photos above and below) attempting a desperation pass, against a rush by TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney (#12), to Wildcats fullback Adam Harter.
Kansas
State holder Colby Moore's desperation pass to fullback Adam Harter (#80), after a mishandled snap on a field goal attempt, was intercepted by TCU safety Markell Simmons (#3). It was Simmon's first interception of the season and second of his career. The botched field goal attempt and a missed extra point kick by K-State kicker Blake Lynch proved crucial in the game, as the Wildcats lost to the Frogs, 14-13.
For the first time in his TCU career, quarterback Michael Collins (#10) lines up TCU in the victory formation in the closing seconds of TCU's 14-13 win over Kansas State. Collins got his first win as a Horned Frog in his second start.

Wildcats. In the battle for last place in the Big 12 Conference, TCU

remain in a last-place tie with Kansas.
