TCU-Baylor Rivalry: With 113 games played, TCU has faced Baylor more than any opponent in its history.
- TCU leads the series, 54-52-7.
- TCU and Baylor are former cross-town rivals. After being founded in 1873 in Thorp Spring, Texas, as AddRan Male and Female College, TCU’s campus moved to Waco in 1895. The name was changed to AddRan Christian University in 1889 and Texas Christian University in 1902. TCU relocated to downtown Fort Worth in 1910 when the Waco facility burned. The University then opened three new buildings on its present campus in 1911.
- The first game between TCU and Baylor was a scoreless tie in 1899.
- TCU is 27-24-1 on the road versus Baylor and 27-28-4 in home games against the Bears.
- The Horned Frogs and Bears tied in both neutral-site meetings.
- TCU is 7-3 against Baylor since the Southwest Conference dissolved after the 1995 season.
- The Horned Frogs are 4-2 versus Baylor in the Big 12 era.
- TCU head coach Gary Patterson is 7-3 as a head coach versus Baylor.
- Patterson is 1-0 against Baylor head coach Matt Rhule.
TCU-Baylor Connections:
- Baylor cornerback Raleigh Texada (#13), of Frisco, is the brother of former TCU cornerback Ranthony Texada.
- Baylor offensive guard Xavier Newman and TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson were teammates on DeSoto's state championship team.
- Robinson led DeSoto to the Texas 6A-II state championship in 2016. Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer led Lake Travis (Austin) to the Texas 6A-I state championship in 2016.
- Baylor does not have on its roster any players from Fort Worth.
- Baylor has several players on its roster from schools within the Fort Worth-Dallas Metroplex.
- TCU does not have any players from Waco on its roster.
TCU Notables:
- TCU has won three straight games over Baylor, including a 62-22 decision in 2016 in its last trip to Waco.
- TCU head coach Gary Patterson is 7-3 as a head coach versus Baylor.
- Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, the Horned Frogs are 4-2 against the Bears. TCU's two losses were both by three points.
- TCU is 39-15 in regular-season games following a loss under Patterson.
- TCU's 38 road wins since 2009 are third in the nation. The Horned Frogs are 38-14 (.731) in that stretch.
- TCU's 45-21 record (.682) in road and neutral-site games since 2009 is the nation's sixth-best mark.
- TCU is 17-14 on the road in Big 12 games.
- Eight of TCU's last 20 Big 12 road games have been decided by seven points or less. The Horned Frogs are 5-3 in those games. Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU is 8-6 in conference road games decided by seven points or less.
- Over the last five seasons, TCU (44-19, 28-15) has the Big 12's second-best overall and conference records.
- TCU is one of just five programs nationally to finish in the top 10 of the final polls at least three times in the last four seasons. The others are Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
- Patterson's 18 seasons as TCU's head coach are more than the combined tenures of the 11 other FBS head coaches in the state of Texas.
- Under Patterson, TCU has posted seven top-10 finishes and 11 in the top 25. The Horned Frogs have won at least 11 games in 10 of the last 15 seasons.
- Patterson has accounted for 25.3 percent (164 of 648) of TCU's all-time football victories.
- Four of TCU's losses this season are to teams ranked in the CFP top 20: No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 9 West Virginia, No. 10 Ohio State and No. 19 Texas. The Horned Frogs held second-half leads against the Buckeyes and Longhorns. TCU also led in the fourth quarter against Texas Tech and Kansas.
- Despite five starters being sidelined by injury, TCU is just 1.7 yards per game away from leading the Big 12 in total defense for conference games only.
- TCU has held nine of 10 opponents below their season total offense averages and seven under their season scoring mark.
- Jalen Reagor tops the Horned Frogs with 60 receptions for 884 yards and seven touchdowns. He needs 116 yards to become just the fourth player in TCU history to reach 1,000 yards in a season.
- Reagor has a touchdown catch in the last five games. In Big 12 history (1996-present), only Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State, 2010-11) had more streaks (three) of five consecutive games with a receiving touchdown than Reagor (two). Reagor's current streak is tied for third-longest in the nation.
