Men's Basketball:
The TCU men's basketball team will play the first basketball game in
Fort Worth’s new Dickies Arena on December 6, 2019, against the
University of Southern California (USC) Trojans. Dickies Arena is a
14,000-seat multipurpose venue that is set to open November 2019,
adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center, about three miles from
TCU’s campus. Ticket information will be available at a later date. The
game will not be included in the 2019-20 TCU men's basketball
season-ticket package. This season, the Horned Frogs will play the
Trojans in the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, December 7, at the
Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The game at Dickies Arena in
2019 will fulfill part two of a two-year agreement between the two
schools. TCU is 1-1 all-time against USC. The Trojans won the last
meeting, 83-59, on December 19, 2011 in Los Angeles. The Frogs won the
first meeting, 81-69, in Fort Worth on November 29, 2010.
Men's Basketball: In voting done by the league's basketball coaches, the 2018-19 TCU men's basketball team was picked tied for fourth in the 2018-19 Big 12 Conference Preseason Poll. TCU received 54 points and tied with Texas. Last season, the Frogs were picked third in the preseason poll and finished fifth, both the highest in their six years in the conference. For the eighth straight season, Kansas was picked atop the Big 12 Preseason Poll. The Jayhawks received all of the possible nine first-place votes for the fourth consecutive season. Kansas State was picked to finish second, followed by West Virginia in third. Other placings were Iowa State at sixth, Texas Tech at seventh, Oklahoma at eighth, Baylor at ninth and Oklahoma State at 10th. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their teams.

This is the second time in school history that the men's basketball team has been ranked in the Preseason Associated Press Top 25 Poll. The Horned Frogs were last ranked in the preseason in 1998, when they were No. 24. Last season, TCU was ranked for eight weeks and was as high as No. 10 in the AP poll. TCU returns five players who made significant starts on last season's team that went 21-12 overall and a program-best 9-9 in the Big 12. TCU reached the postseason for the second-straight season and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 20 years. The Frogs open the season at home against CSU Bakersfield, on November 7, at 8 pm CT.
Men's and Women's Basketball: TCU basketball will host the Sundance Shootaround downtown in Fort Worth's Sundance Square at 6:30 pm CT on November 1. The free event will showcase the men's and women's basketball teams in a pep rally-like atmosphere. SuperFrog, the TCU Showgirls, cheerleaders and band also will be featured.
Soccer: The TCU women's soccer team scored a 2-0 victory over No. 24 Texas Tech on October 19 at Garvey-Rosenthal in Fort Worth. A crowd of 2,533, the seventh-largest in stadium history, saw the 2018 seniors close out their home slate with a win. TCU (11-4-2, 4-3-1) closes the regular season Thursday night (October 25) at Oklahoma State. Game time in Stillwater is 7 pm CT.
Volleyball: The TCU volleyball team began the second half of Big 12 Conference play with a 3-2 loss to Baylor on Wednesday, October 24, at The Rickel inside the University Recreation Center. The Frogs dropped to 12-8 on the season and 4-5 in Big 12 play. The Frogs are 11-2 at home this season. The Frogs closed the first half of Big 12 play on Thursday, October 18. Down two sets, TCU staged a comeback to win three straight sets and beat West Virginia at The Rickel, 3-2 (18-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-23, 15-7).
Rifle: The No. 4 Horned Frogs shot a score of 4,708 in a victory over The Citadel and Georgia Southern on Saturday, October 20, in Charleston, South Carolina. TCU fired a 2,324 in smallbore and a 2,384 in air rifle. The Frogs' performance in air rifle was a new program record, topping their mark from last season's PRC Championships. In the match, the Frogs boasted eight of the top nine aggregate scorers. TCU kept its season record perfect at 3-0. The Horned Frogs take on VMI in Lexington, Virginia, on Saturday, October 27.
Soccer: Twelve members of the TCU women's soccer team were honored as first-team Academic All-Big 12 performers. They are Emily Alvarado, Tayla Christensen, Tihana Djuricek, Danielle Eule, Kayla Hill, Isabelle Juarez, Cachet Lue, Katie Lund, Haley Mallion, Sarah Riley, Tara Smith and Karitas Tomasdottir. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
