It was a TCU "Black-Out" for the game against Texas Tech.

Here comes Super Frog!

The Texas Tech band had a lofty perch in The Carter Thursday night.

TCU baseball alum and St. Louis Cardinal Matt Carpenter was the featured celebrity in the traditional Riff-Ram video.

Here come the Frogs! TCU players wore a black jersey, black pants and a purple chrome helmet.

Here come the Red Raiders! Tech Tech players wore throwback uniforms. The helmets, jerseys and pants were white, with red and black striping and numbers. The helmet featured a red double-T logo and stars.

TCU's captains for the game were (from left to right) Ty Summers (#42), Kellton Hollins (#55), Shawn Robinson (#3) and Ben Banogu (#15). It was Robinson's first time being a captain. Honorary captain was TCU football alum and NFLer Clint Gresham, who currently is a free agent.

(photos above and below) Despite suffering an apparent left shoulder injury in the previous game against Iowa State, TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson (#3) started and played the entire game against Texas Tech. He completed 26 of 45 passes for 290 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and two interceptions, his seventh and eighth ones of the season. Robinson, who was sacked once, ran the ball seven times for 42 yards. Robinson also had one of TCU's four fumbles in the game, but the Horned Frogs only lost one of those fumbles to the Red Raiders.

TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor (#1) fumbled a lateral on this play, but kept Texas Tech from recovering the loose football.

After his 20-yard, second-quarter touchdown reception, TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor (#1) is congratulated on the bench by injured cornerback Michael Onyemaobi (#22). It was Reagor's team-best third of the season and the 11th of his career, moving him into 13th place on TCU's career list. Reagor has at least one reception in his last 11 games, the longest current streak by a Horned Frog. He has a catch in 19 of his 20 games at TCU. Reagor finished with 73 receiving yards on a career-high tying eight receptions, pushing his career total to 1,008 yards. Reagor became the 17th player to surpass the 1,000-yard receiving mark for his career during Gary Patterson's head coaching tenure.

TCU's running game against Texas Tech netted only 121 yards on 32 attempts. Running back Darius Anderson (#6, photos above and below) had only 39 yards on 12 carries. He fumbled once, but the football was recovered by TCU. The last three games since the Ohio State Game, Anderson has rushed for only 96 yards on 36 carries. Against Ohio State, he had 154 yards on 12 carries, including a 93-yard touchdown run.

TCU receiver KaVonate Turpin's (#25) 31-yard touchdown catch on this play in the fourth quarter was the 12th of his career, tying him with Jeremy Kerley (2007-10) and Phillip Epps (1978-81) for 10th on TCU's career list. Turpin had six receptions for 120 yards. The catches moved him ahead of John Washington (135, 1993-96) into eighth place on TCU's career list with 140. The receiving yards gave him his first 100-yard game of the season and fourth of his career. It was the first 100-yard receiving game by a Horned Frog in 2018.

After his touchdown reception, TCU receiver KaVonate Turpin (#25) receives congratulations from tight end Artayvious Lynn (#88).

TCU kicker Jonathan Song (#46) missed a 47-yard field goal in the second quarter of TCU's 17-14 loss to the Red Raiders.

(photos above and below) TCU head coach Gary Patterson once again had the TCU defense playing at a high level in the game against Texas Tech. The Frogs limited Texas Tech, the nation's leader in total offense entering the game at 591.4 yards per game, to 353 yards. The Red Raiders were tied for seventh in scoring in the FBS at 48.4 points per game. The TCU defense held them to 17 points, despite three turnovers by the Frogs' offense. The Horned Frogs have held all six opponents in 2018 below their season averages in scoring and total offense.

TCU defensive end L.J. Collier (#91) rushes Texas Tech quarterback Jett Duffey (#7). Collier had three tackles and two sacks against in the game against the Red Raiders.

TCU defensive end Ben Banogu (#15) attempts to block a pass by Texas Tech quarterback Jett Duffey (#7). Banogu had eight tackles and two sacks in the game. The Frogs' four sacks in the game, two each by Banogu and Collier, equaled a season high from the SMU game. It also was the first time TCU had two players with multiple sacks since an October 8, 2016, win at Kansas when Josh Carraway had three and Mat Boesen had 1.5.

TCU defensive back Julius Lewis (#24) got his first career interception in the game against the Red Raiders.

(photos above and below) TCU's defense held Texas Tech to 151 rushing yards on 43 carries. Red Raiders running back Tre King (#24) was held to 60 yards on 10 carries.
