For the first-time, there were multiple Golden Frog Award winners at the Midnite Madness Tailgate. TCU alum Don Williams (left) was recognized for his Italian meatballs, TCU alum Mary Burke wowed attendees with her Halloween pumpkin bread, and TCU alum Bob Dixon shook the cobwebs off of his mother's shake-n-bake chicken recipe.
TCU alum Dave Moran was awarded an honorary Golden Frog Award for having traveled the farthest to attend the Midnite Madness Homecoming Tailgate. Dave returned to Fort Worth and TCU from Connecticut.
2012 was TCU's first year in the Big 12 and it also marked the beginning of a domination by the Frogs of the University of Texas. TCU beat UT, 20-13, on November 22, 2012, in Austin, before nearly 100,000 spectators in Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. With its 37-27 victory this past Saturday, October 26, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, TCU has beaten Texas six of the eight years both teams have been in the Big 12.
