TCU proudly has become a founding and exclusive educational partner with Fort Worth's new Dickies Arena.
Here is a letter that TCU Chancellor Victor Boschini sent to the TCU Campus Community on October 14, 2019:
 Dear Campus Community,
I am pleased to share with you that the TCU Board of Trustees recently
voted to approve a partnership with Fort Worth’s new Dickies Arena,
making TCU a founding and exclusive educational partner of this
state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility.
We are grateful to
Matt Rose, a valued member of the Board of Trustees, who led a
thoughtful and diligent exploration process begun by the Board of
Trustees in 2018. The agreement solidifies our commitment to the
community in which we are proud to learn, live, work and play.
Most importantly, we will utilize the partnership to amplify the people,
programs and activities of TCU. Initiatives may include community
workshops, marketing efforts, speaker series, use of arena and
conference space and educational collaborations. This exclusive
education sponsorship extends TCU’s visibility beyond our campus
borders, reminding citizens and visitors to Fort Worth of TCU’s presence
as an anchor in our community.
Our Dickies Arena partnership
adds a dimension to the work we have done in building an engaged campus
by integrating service and learning through community-based partnerships
as well as important academic initiatives, such as the TCU and UNTHSC
School of Medicine.
Over the past decade, we have invested more
than $1 billion in building new facilities and renovating classrooms,
labs and residence halls to develop the infrastructure necessary to
provide an enriching experience for our students and achieve our key
campus master plan goals. At the same time, Fort Worth, with a focus on
building a strong and active community, has grown to be the 13th largest
city in the nation and the No. 1 tourist destination in Texas.
Working together with the city and through public-private initiatives
such as this, we align priorities and cultivate more opportunities for
TCU to be recognized as a prominent educational leader and active
participant in the community. We enhance our ability to attract and
retain talent; elevate the level of learning and lifestyle for our
students, employees and alumni; and help drive economic development.
TCU has a long-standing tradition of collaboration with the city of
Fort Worth, and this initiative reflects our ongoing efforts and desire
to be the university of Fort Worth, not just a university in Fort Worth.
I want to thank you for your support as we further develop this strategically important opportunity for the benefit of TCU.
Sincerely,
Victor J. Boschini, Jr.
