Texas is 5-2 (3-1, Big 12). Texas; wins have been over Louisiana Tech, Rice, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, and Kansas. Texas' losses have been to LSU and Oklahoma.

Previous TCU-Texas Game: Texas beat TCU, 31-16, in Austin on September 22, 2018.

TCU-Texas Rivalry:

    • The Horned Frogs have defeated the Longhorns in four of the last five meetings and are 5-2 against Texas since beginning Big 12 play in 2012.
    • TCU has beaten Texas the last two times the teams have played in Fort Worth; 24-7 in 2017 and 50-7 in 2015.
    • This will be the 90th meeting between TCU and Texas. UT leads the series, 63-25-1, which began with an 18-10 Texas win in 1897.
    • UT won 24 straight over TCU from 1968-91.
    • TCU has won five of the past seven matchups in this series since Gary Patterson’s club joined the Big 12. The average margin of victory in the Frogs’ five wins is 25.4 points.
    • In 2012, TCU upset Mack Brown and No. 18 Texas, 20-13, in the first Thanksgiving night game in Austin following the demise of the Lone Star Showdown with the Aggies.
    • Brown and Texas returned the favor in Fort Worth in 2013 with a 23-point win (30-7).
    • TCU got the best of the Longhorns (48-10) in Austin on Thanksgiving 2014, in Charlie Strong’s first holiday game.
    • On October 3, 2015, in Fort  Worth, during TCU Homecoming Weekend, the Frogs dominated Texas, 50-7, giving TCU victories in back-to-back seasons over Texas for the first time since 1958-59.
    • On November 25, 2016, in Austin, the Frogs beat Texas 31-9 in Charlie Strong's last game as the Longhorns' coach. The win marked the first three-game winning streak for TCU over the 'Whorns since four straight victories from 1935-38.
    • TCU beat Texas 24-7, in Amon G. Carter Stadium on November 4, 2017. The win marked the first time TCU had beaten Texas four games in a row since the Frogs won four straight from 1935-38. TCU’s national championships (1935, 1938) were at the front and back ends of that stretch.
    • Texas is TCU’s fourth-most played series. The Horned Frogs’ 89 games with the Longhorns trail only Baylor (114), SMU (99) and Texas A&M (92).
    • One of the more memorable wins in TCU history was a 6-0 victory at No. 1 Texas on November 18, 1961. The TCU victory potentially cost the Longhorns their first national championship. TCU straggled into the game with a 2-4-1 record. Undefeated Texas was ranked No. 1 in the country for the first time since early 1946, and only TCU and Texas a&m stood between the Longhorns and the school's first national championship. TCU scored in the second quarter by reaching into a bag of tricks. At midfeld, TCU quarterback Sonny Gibbs pitched the ball back to his tailback on a fake sweep, got it back, and then heaved a pass to end Buddy Iles, who was hit at the two-yard line and bounced into the end zone.  On its final two drives of the game, Texas began deep in its own territory and never threatened. TCU had a 6-0 upset win. It was the last win of the season for the up-and-down Horned Frogs, who lost to Rice and tied sMu. Texas bounced back to beat a&m, and then Mississippi in the Cotton Bowl. The Longhorns finished third in the country, behind Ohio State, which had lost to TCU early in the season. Alabama won the national title. In 1962, UT coach Darrell K. Royal compared the TCU situation to a cockroach: “It’s not so much what he gets into and carries away but what he falls into and messes up.”
