ESPN College GameDay Week 10: ESPN GameDay will be in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, November 2. #15 SMU (8-0) will battle #24 Memphis. The game kicks off at 6:30 pm Central. The game is being broadcast by ABC. During the college football season, GameDay airs live on ESPN on Saturdays, from 8 to 11 am Central. GameDay features Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Maria Taylor.

TCU's Previous Game: This is TCU’s eighth game of the 2019 season. The Frogs' last game was a 37-27 win over No. 15 Texas in Fort Worth on Saturday, October 26. 

Oklahoma State's Previous Game: On Saturday, October 26, in Ames, Iowa, Oklahoma State shocked No. 23 Iowa State, 34-27.

Previous TCU-Oklahoma State Game: TCU beat Oklahoma State, 31-24, on November 24, 2018, in Fort Worth. The victory improved TCU's record to 6-6, making the Horned Frogs bowl-eligible. TCU received and accepted an invitation to play against the University of California in the Cheez-It Bowl. 

TCU-Oklahoma State Rivalry:

  • Oklahoma State holds a 15-12-2 edge in the all-time series with TCU.
  • TCU is 7-5-2 versus Oklahoma State in Fort Worth, 4-8 in Stillwater, 1-1 in a pair of meetings (1943, 1946) in Oklahoma City and 0-1 in Dallas (1945 Cotton Bowl).
  • TCU is playing in Stillwater for the fifth time in its eight seasons in the Big 12. Upon entering the conference in 2012, TCU inherited Texas A&M's league schedule in which the Aggies owed the Cowboys an extra home game. TCU played at Oklahoma State in consecutive seasons in 2012 and 2013, before hosting the Cowboys for the first time in 2014.
  • TCU head coach Gary Patterson is 3-4 as a head coach versus Oklahoma State with all seven meetings since TCU joined the Big 12 in 2012.
  • TCU has won the last two meetings with Oklahoma State (2017 in Stillwater and 2018 in Fort Worth), its longest winning streak versus the Cowboys since a string of three consecutive victories from 1990-92.

  • The game will feature the all-time winningest coaches at both schools. TCU head coach Gary Patterson has 171 victories at TCU. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has 126 wins for OSU.
  • TCU defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Chad Glasgow was a three-year letterman (1991-93) at linebacker for Oklahoma State. He was also a graduate assistant (1994-95) under former Oklahoma State head coach Bob Simmons.
  • TCU co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach Curtis Luper played at Oklahoma State (1984- 87) before returning to Stillwater as a Cowboys' assistant coach (2005-08).
  • Oklahoma State defensive analyst Chris Thurmond was a TCU defensive backs coach in 1995, and from 1998-2000. Thurmond also was Houston's interim head coach when it faced TCU in the 2007 Texas Bowl
  • Oklahoma State associate head coach/receivers coach Kasey Dunn was TCU's cornerbacks coach in 2003.
  • Oklahoma State has 43 players from Texas on its roster, including three from Fort Worth: Tylan Wallace (#2), South Hills; Shaun Taylor (#18), All Saints Episcopal; and Truett Knox (#54), Aledo.
  • TCU has two players on its roster from Oklahoma: senior cornerback Keenan Reed (#4), of Tulsa, and freshman linebacker Zach Marcheselli (#34) of Broken Arrow.

Frogs Missing in Action: Cornerback Julius Lewis is expected to return to action in the Oklahoma State game. Linebacker LaKendrick Van Zandt may return to action in the Oklahoma State game. The Texas game was the last game for offensive tackle Lucas Niang. He is having season-ending surgery for a torn hip labrum. Receiver Dylan Thomas suffered a leg injury in the Iowa State game. The injury required surgery. Thomas most likely will miss the season. Cornerback Noah Daniels suffered a season-ending injury during a summer practice session.

The Line: Oklahoma State opened as a five-point favorite.The Cowboys now are a two-point favorite. The over/under is 58.5 points.

  • TCU's 40 road wins since 2009 rank in a tie for third nationally. The Horned Frogs are 40-17 (.702) in that stretch.
  • TCU is 18-16 on the road in its Big 12 history.
  • Ten of TCU's last 22 Big 12 road games have been decided by seven points or less. The Horned Frogs are 6-4 in those games. Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU is 9-7 in conference road games decided by seven points or less.
  • TCU is No. 1 in the Big 12 and 18th nationally in total defense.

Boone Pickens Stadium Rules and Regulations: 

  • All persons, including children of any age, must have a ticket for admission into Boone Pickens Stadium.
  • Ticket holders are restricted to sitting in the location that appears on their ticket.
  • All persons are subject to search.
  • Allowable bags (12”x 12” x 12” or less) brought into the stadium will be searched.
  • Only authorized personnel with proper game credentials will be permitted on the field.
  • Tobacco (including electronic cigarettes, vapor devices, etc.) use is prohibited on university property.
  • Service animals for guests with disabilities are permitted. All other animals are prohibited. All service animals must remain under the control of the handler at all times.
  • No chair backs are allowed in the stadium.
  • Ticket holders are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and/or person using the tickets.
  • Boone Pickens Stadium has a no re-entry policy.
  • The following items are not permitted to be brought into Boone Pickens Stadium: banners, signs or flags, umbrellas, car seats, baby strollers/carriers, artificial noisemakers, beach balls, explosives, weapons, firearms, drones, outside food or drink, ice chests, backpacks, video cameras, cameras with lens longer than 3 inches (detachable or non-detachable), tripods, monopods, laser pointers, selfie sticks, and any item that may create a safety concern, disturbance or obstruct the view of other fans.

2019 Game 9 for TCU: TCU will clash with undefeated Baylor (8-0, 5-0) at 11 am or 2:30 pm Central, on November 9, in Amon G. Carter Stadium. ABC, ESPN or FS1 will broadcast the game.
