Game 10 of TCU’s 2021 Football Regular Season: TCU Horned Frogs (4-5, 2-4 Big 12) versus No. 10 Oklahoma State (8-1, 5-1 Big 12), Saturday, November 13, 2021; 7 pm (Central); Boone Pickens Stadium; Stillwater, Oklahoma; TV: Fox (Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman); Radio -- WBAP 820 AM, Sirius 119, XM 200 (Radio Talent: Brian Estridge, John Denton, Landry Burdine); Spanish Radio: Zona MX 99.1 (Radio Talent: Miguel Cruz, Elvis Gallegos).

On Saturday, Oklahoma State will unveil a statue of former Oklahoma State running back Barry Sanders. Sanders also will have his name and jersey number added to the Ring of Honor inside Boone Pickens Stadium.  

Sanders will become the second member of the Cowboy Football Ring of Honor, following his teammate and fellow hall-of-famer Thurman Thomas, who was inducted in 2020. 

Sanders will be the first OSU player honored with a statue outside the stadium. The sculptor, Harold Holden, also made the statue of Boone Pickens that was unveiled in 2020. 

Sanders' domination of college football in 1988 was historic and earned him the Heisman Trophy and unanimous first-team All-America honors. He helped make the Oklahoma State offense one of the most productive in college football history.

TCU Offensive Coordinator Doug Meacham was a three-year starter (1985-87) on the Cowboys' offensive line. Meacham blocked for 1988 Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sanders and two-time Big Eight Player of the Year Thurman Thomas.

Additionally, this Saturday, in a one-game departure from the traditional "Sea of Orange," all Oklahoma State fans are being encouraged to dress in black, to black-out Boone Pickens Stadium.
 
Big 12 Conference Expansion Update: Big 12 Conference invitations have been accepted by Brigham Young University, the University of Houston, the University of Cincinnati, and the University of Central Florida.  The schools said the moves will come by July 1, 2024, at the latest. All four of the schools currently are members of the American Athletic Conference (AAC). Additional information: here  

TCU Uniform Combination for the Oklahoma State Game: Against Oklahoma State, the Horned Frogs will wear a white jersey with purple trim, purple pants and a white helmet with a purple TCU logo and purple Horned Frog logo.

TCU's Previous Game to the Oklahoma State Game: On Saturday, November 6, in Fort Worth, Texas, TCU upset No. 12 Baylor, 30-28. It was the Horned Frogs’ first game without Gary Patterson leading them in over two decades and was the first game for interim head coach Jerry Kill.

TCU's Next Game after the Oklahoma State Game: TCU will play Big 12 foe Kansas, on Saturday, November 20, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, in Fort Worth, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 pm. The game will be broadcast by Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Oklahoma State’s Previous Game to the TCU Game: On Saturday, November 6, Oklahoma State defeated West Virginia, 24-3, in Morgantown, West Virginia.

  • TCU Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach Chad Glasgow was a three-year letterman (1991-93) at linebacker for Oklahoma State. He was also a graduate assistant (1994-95) under former Head Coach Bob Simmons.
  • Oklahoma State Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Receivers Coach Kasey Dunn was TCU's cornerbacks coach in 2003.
  • Oklahoma State Defensive Analyst Chris Thurmond was a TCU defensive backs coach in 1995 as well as 1998-2000. Thurmond was also Houston's interim head coach when it lost 20-13 to TCU in the 2007 Texas Bowl.

TCU Missing in Action News: Running back Zach Evans has been injured the past two games and is questionable for the Oklahoma State game. Running back Kendre Miller was injured in the rib area in the Baylor game. He is questionable for the Oklahoma State game. Quarterback Max Duggan has a broken bone in his foot. He could be available if needed during the Oklahoma State game. Quarterback Chandler Morris was banged up in the Baylor game but he is expected to start against Oklahoma State. Running back Daimarqua Foster is sidelined by an injury. TCU quarterback Matthew Downing and wide receiver TJ Steele have entered the transfer portal.

TCU Notables:

  • Since 2009, TCU is tied for sixth nationally with 45 road wins. The Horned Frogs are 45-22 (.672) in that stretch.
  • TCU's 53-28 record (.654) in road and neutral-site games since 2009 is seventh-best nationally.
  • TCU's 35-21 mark (.625) in conference road games since 2009 is 13th-best in the FBS.
  • TCU is 23-21 on the road in its Big 12 history. 
  • Over the last seven seasons, TCU has the Big 12's third-best conference record (40-29) and overall mark (62-35).
  • Against Baylor, TCU totaled 562 yards of offense, which are the most yards gained in a game by the Frogs since they totaled 625 yards against Kansas in 2019.
  • Filling in for injured starting quarterback Max Duggan, TCU redshirt freshman Chandler Morris made his first career start a memorable one.
  • Morris, who is from Highland Park, Texas, and transferred to TCU from the University of Oklahoma prior to this season, accounted for 531 yards of offense and three touchdowns against Baylor. The total yardage is the second-most in TCU program history, only trailing quarterback Matt Vogler’s 696 total yards in a 1990 game versus Houston.
  • Morris completed 29-of-41 passes for 461 yards, the fourth most passing yards in TCU football history, trailing only Matt Vogler (690 yards), Trevone Boykin (485 yards), and Casey Pachall (473 yards).
  • Morris, who wears number 14 on his jersey, which was the number worn by Andy Dalton, one of the most noted quarterbacks in TCU history, became the first TCU quarterback to pass for 400 yards since Kenny Hill, his position coach, threw for 449 yards against Oklahoma in 2016. 
  • Morris ranks third in Big 12 history for most passing yards in a first career start. The 461 yards are also the third-most nationally since 2012 for a player in his first career start. First on the list is Hill, with 511 in 2014.
  • Morris threw two touchdown passes; one to wide receiver Quentin Johnston and one to tight end Dominic DiNunzio. Eight other Horned Frogs caught a pass from Morris.
  • Morris did not throw an interception and consistently eluded a heavy rush by the Bears to keep plays alive. He only was sacked once. Because of Morris’ craftiness, Fox Sports analyst Matt Leinart described him as a “magician” in his postgame analysis.
  • Morris ran 11 times for a team-high 79 yards. He scored his first touchdown as a Horned Frog on a nifty 12-yard run in the first quarter for the Frogs’ first score of the game.
  • Morris also caught a seven-yard pass, which was thrown by TCU receiver Taye Barber. It was Morris’ first career reception and Barber’s first completed pass.
  • Morris’ performance earned him numerous awards.
  • He was named Big 12 offensive player of the week, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award player of the week, Manning Award star of the week, and Capital One Orange Bowl Player of the Week (voted by fans).
  • Morris' father, Chad Morris, is the head football coach and assistant athletic director at Allen High School, in Allen, Texas. He is the former head football coach at SMU and the University of Arkansas.
  • The touchdown in the Baylor game for DiNunzio, who attends TCU on an ROTC scholarship, was the first of his career.
  • Johnston had five receptions for 152 yards against Baylor. It was his third 100-yard game in the last four contests. His five career 100-yard games are the most among current Horned Frogs.
  • Besides completing a pass to Morris, Barber had a season-best six receptions for 78 yards in the Baylor game.
  • Against Baylor, receiver Derius Davis had a season-best 81 yards receiving on five catches.
  • Kicker Griffin Kell had three field goals in the Baylor game, from 30, 46 and 24 yards. Those three field goals extended his consecutive made streak to 11, tied for the eighth-longest streak in TCU history (the streak ended in the second half when Kell had a 37-yard field goal attempt blocked and he missed a 34-yarder). 
  • Defensively, the Horned Frogs totaled seven tackles for loss by six different players against the stunned Bears.
  • Defensive end Dylan Horton and linebacker Dee Winters tied for team-best honors in the Baylor game with eight tackles each. Horton had two tackles for loss.
  • Against the Bears, junior safety Nook Bradford recorded his first career sack. 
  • TCU has at least one sack in 94 of its last 100 games.
  • Junior cornerback Kee’yon Stewart played in his first game of the season against Baylor. He had his first career interception. It was in the TCU end zone, off a Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson deflection of a pass intended for Baylor wide receiver Tyquan Thornton.
  • TCU was assessed 13 penalties for 111 yards in the Baylor game.
  • TCU has the Big 12's third-best offense, averaging 450.6 total yards per game.
  • The Frogs have the conference's sixth-best scoring offense, averaging 31.3 points per game.
  • TCU has the third-best rushing offense in the Big 12, averaging 196 rushing yards per game.
  • The Horned Frogs have the Big 12's fifth best passing offense, averaging 254.6 passing yards per game.
  • TCU is eighth in the Big 12 in overall defense, allowing 437.7 total yards per game.
  • The Frogs also are eighth in the conference in scoring defense, allowing 31.1 points per game.
  • TCU's rushing defense is eighth-best in the Big 12, allowing 201.6 rushing yards per game.
  • TCU has the conference's seventh-best passing defense, allowing 236.1 passing yards per game.
  • Running back Zach Evans is the Big 12's fourth-best rusher. he is averaging 108 rushing yards per game. he has rushed 92 times for 648 yards. He is averaging seven yards per carry. He has scored five rushing touchdowns.

  • Wide receiver Quentin Johnston ranks third in the Big 12 in receiving, averaging 76.9 receiving yards per game. He has caught 31 passes for 615 yards. He has caught six touchdown passes. He has a long catch of 75 yards.
  • With an average of 41 receiving yards per game, TCU wide receiver Taye Barber ranks 20th in the Big 12. he has caught 25 passes for 369 yards. He has caught two touchdown passes and has a long catch of 60 yards.
  • The Frogs' Derius Davis averages 39.2 receiving yards per game, ranking 23rd in the conference. He has caught 25 passes for 353 yards. He has one touchdown reception. He has a long catch of 63 yards.
  • Kicker Griffin Kell is sixth in the Big 12 in scoring. He has scored 70 points on 12 field goals and 34 extra points. He is averaging 7.8 points per game. 
  • TCU punter Jordy Sandy is seventh in punting in the Big 12. He is averaing 44 yards per punt on 28 punts. He has had nine punts downed inside the 20-yard line. He has had eight punts of 50 yards or more. He has a long punt of 64 yards.

  • Oklahoma State University (OSU) is a public land-grant research university, of which its main campus is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, which is about 70 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
  • OSU was founded in 1890 under the Morrill Act and originally was known as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College (Oklahoma A&M).

  • Oklahoma State redshirt senior running back Jaylen Warren (#7) is fifth in the Big 12 in rushing. He is averaging 103.1 rushing yards per game. He has carried the football 191 times for 928 yards, an average of 4.9 yards per carry. He has seven rushing touchdowns.
  • Senior linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez (#20) leads Oklahoma State and the Big 12 in tackles. He has 87 tackles and is averaging 9.7 tackles per game. He has no sacks, but 8.5 tackles for loss.
  • OSU redshirt senior linebacker Devin Harper (#16) is 13th in the Big 12, averaging 4.5 tackles per game. He has 58 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
  • Senior safety Kolby Harvell-Peel (#31), with an average of 5.4 tackles per game, is 24th in the Big 12. He has 49 total tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss.
  • Harvell-Peel is second in the Big 12 with three interceptions through nine games.
  • Oklahoma State’s Jason Taylor II (#25), a redshirt junior safety, has two interceptions.
