Oregon is the number one team in the fifth rankings released by the College Football Playoff selection committee on Tuesday, December 3.
The Ducks are followed by Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame and Georgia in the top five.
Ohio State, Tennessee, SMU, Indiana, Boise State and Alabama round out
the top 12.
The
playoff schedule and seedings, based on this week's top 25, would be:
Oregon (No 1 seed); Texas (No. 2 seed); SMU (No. 3 seed) and Boise
State (No. 4 seed).
Projected first-round games (with seeding) (on campus):
No. 9 Tennessee at No. 8 Ohio State (winner plays No. 1 Oregon)
No. 12 Arizona State at No. 5 Penn State (winner plays No. 4 Boise State)
No. 10 Indiana at No 7 Georgia (winner plays No 2 Texas)
No. 11 Alabama at No. 6 Notre Dame (winner plays No. 3 SMU)
The sixth and final rankings that will determine the playoff teams and seedings will be released on Sunday, December 8, from 11 am to 3 pm (Central), on ESPN.
