College Football Playoff Seedings, Pairings, Schedule Announced; Oregon is No 1

Oregon is the number one team in the final rankings released by the College Football Playoff selection committee on Selection Sunday, December 8.

The Ducks are followed by Georgia (#2), Boise State (#3) and Arizona State (#4) as the top four teams that will receive a bye into the quarterfinal round.

Texas (#5), Penn State (#6), Notre Dame (#7), Ohio State (#8), Tennessee (#9), Indiana (#10), SMU (#11) and Clemson (#12) round out the top 12 teams for the playoff.

The Big 10 has four teams in the playoffs, the Southwestern Conference (SEC)  three teams, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) three teams, and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and the Big 12 have one team each.
