Same Old Story: Baylor Picked To Dominate Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball 2020-21 Title

It may be a long season for the TCU women's basketball team.

In a vote by the head coaches of the Big 12 Conference's women's basketball teams, the Frogs have been picked to finish ninth in the 10-team league for the 2020-21 season.

Baylor has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the Big 12 women’s basketball regular-season title in 2020-21.

Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey has built a dynasty in Waco. This is the 10th time since 2006 that the Lady Bears have been atop the preseason ledger. The BU women have won or tied for 11 regular-season crowns, including the last 10.

In addition, a Baylor trio headlines the 2020-21 Preseason All-Big 12 Women’s Basketball Awards, which also are chosen by head coaches.

Baylor's NaLyssa Smith was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year. BU's DiJonai Carrington was named the Preseason Newcomer of the Year. The Bears' Sarah Andrews was tabbed Preseason Freshman of the Year.

TCU guard Lauren Heard is the Frogs' lone representative on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team.

The 2020-21 Big 12 women's basketball season opens on Wednesday, November 25.
