  • October 7, vs West Virginia: Won, 31-24. As the country's eighth-ranked team, TCU stayed unbeaten as Kenny Hill became the fourth player in Big 12 history, and the second in a conference game, to rush for a touchdown, throw for a score and catch a TD pass. He was the first player to accomplish the feat since 2008.
  • October 14, at Kansas State: Won, 26-6. Despite lengthy weather delays in the Little Apple, the sixth-ranked Horned Frogs stayed unbeaten. Travin Howard's eight tackles led a strong TCU defensive performance.
  • October 21 vs Kansas: Won, 43-0. Kenny Hill threw five touchdown passes and the TCU defense allowed just 21 offensive yards as the fourth-ranked Frogs dominated the hapless Jayhawks to remain unbeaten.
  • October 28, at Iowa State: Lost, 14-7. Fourth-ranked TCU lost for the first time in 2017. The Frogs' offense was missing in action. TCU's only score came on a 94-yard return of the second-half kickoff by KaVontae Turpin.
  • November 4, vs Texas: Won, 24-7. After dropping to No. 8 in the country following the loss to Iowa State, TCU rebounded with a decisive 24-7 win over the Longhorns. The Frogs held Texas to nine rushing yards and recorded seven sacks.
  • November 11, at Oklahoma: Lost, 38-20. In a classic matchup in Norman, in front of nearly 89,000 people, eventual Heisman Trphy winner Baker Mayfield and the fifth-ranked Sooners showed the sixth-ranked Horned Frogs that OU is still the class of the Big 12.
  • November 18, at Texas Tech: Won, 27-3. True freshman quarterback Shawn Robinson, filling in for an injured Kenny Hill, leads the Frogs to victory in Lubbock. Robinson became the first true freshman to start at quarterback in the 17 seasons Gary Patterson had been head coach. The last true freshman to start at quarterback for TCU was Casey Printers Sept. 25, 1999, at Arkansas State, a 24-21 Horned Frogs' win. Patterson was in his second year as TCU's defensive coordinator.
  • November 24, vs Baylor: Won, 45-22. TCU dominated Baylor in the regular-season finale to get a Big 12 title shot against Oklahoma in AT&T Stadium.
  • December 2, vs Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game in AT&T Stadium in Arlintgon, Texas: Lost, 41-17. In their first Big 12 championship game, the Horned Frogs were overwhelmed and ost for the second time in 2017 to the Sooners.
  • December 28, vs. Stanford, Alamo Bowl (San Antonio): Won, 39-37. The 15th-ranked Horned Frogs came back to beat the 13th-ranked Stanford Cardinal in San Antonio. TCU trailed 21-10 at the half.
