TCU's men’s basketball team has received a No. 9 seed in the men's 2026 NCAA Tournament and will face No. 8 Ohio State in an East Region first-round game on Thursday, March 19, in Greenville, South Carolina.
If TCU advances, it will face the winner of the region's other Thursday game in Greenville between the tournament's overall No. 1 seed, Duke (32-2), and No. 16 Siena (23-11).
The two winners will meet in a second-round game on Saturday, March 21. The East Region's Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games will be played in Washington, D.C.
The tournament's Final Four will be played in Indianapolis.
TCU's women's basketball team received a No. 3 seed in the women's 2026 NCAA Tournament and is hosting first- and second-round games in Schollmaier Arena for the second consecutive season. This is the first time in TCU basketball history that both the men's team and the women's team have received NCAA Tournament bids in the same season.
This will be TCU’s fourth men's NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five seasons, and fifth appearance overall, under head coach Jamie Dixon, who is in his 10th season leading the Horned Frogs. The Frogs missed the NCAA tournament last year and in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
TCU's overall record is 22-11. The Frogs finished in sixth place in the Big 12 with an 11-7 record.
Ohio State's overall record is 21-12. The Buckeyes finished in eighth place in the Big 10 with a 12-8 record.
TCU is one of eight Big 12 teams to be included in the 2026 NCAA Basketball Tournament. The seven other Big 12 teams:
- Arizona: No. 1 seed, West Region
- Houston: No. 2 seed, South Region
- Iowa State: No. 2 seed, Midwest Region
- Texas Tech: No. 5 seed, Midwest Region
- BYU: No. 6 seed, West Region
- Kansas: No. 4 seed, East Region
- UCF: No. 10 seed, East Region
In addition to Duke and Arizona, the tournament's other two No. 1 seeds are Michigan in the Midwest Region and Florida in the South Region.
