Date Change Announced for TCU's 2022 Football Opener at Colorado

The TCU football team's 2022 season opener at Colorado has been moved to Friday, September 2, from Saturday, September 3. Kickoff time and television information will be announced later.

The game will mark the debut of the Horned Frogs under new head coach Sonny Dykes.

The Horned Frogs and Buffaloes will be meeting for the first time. The home-and-home series will continue in 2023, at Amon G. Carter Stadium, in Fort Worth.

TCU will open its season on a Friday for the first time since 2011. The following week that season also marks the last time the Horned Frogs played in the state of Colorado, posting a 35-19 victory at Air Force.

TCU Football Signs Nine Players On Early-Signing Day for 2022 Recruiting Class


New TCU head football coach Sonny Dykes and his staff signed nine senior high school football players to national letters of intent on Wednesday, December 15, which was the national early-signing day for the 2022 recruiting class.

Wednesday, February 2, 2022, is the regular national signing date for the 2022 recruiting class.

Here are highlights about the new Horned Frogs:

Chace Biddle (safety, 6-0, 190, Garland, Texas; Garland High School): Four-star recruit … rated by 247Sports as the No. 11 safety in the nation, No. 29 overall player in Texas and No. 160 in the country … ranked by ESPN as the sixth-best safety in the nation … invited to the Under Armour All-America Game and the Polynesian Bowl … helped Garland to a 10-1 record and a Texas 6A Division II playoff appearance … totaled 100 tackles, including seven for loss, with five interceptions and nine pass breakups in his prep career … recorded 33 tackles as a senior with six for loss along with three interceptions and three pass breakups … also ran track with a 10.70 time in the 100 as a sophomore and a 22.12 in the 200 as a freshman. Kyron Chambers (cornerback, 6-0, 195, Dallas, Texas; South Oak Cliff High School): Ranked by 247Sports as the No. 43 cornerback in the country and No. 65 overall recruit in Texas … rated the fourth-best cornerback and the 46th-best overall player in the Dallas area in the Class of 2022 … three-star recruit … helped South Oak Cliff reach the 2021 5A Division II state championship game … Texas District 6-5A Division II first-team selection at cornerback as a junior. Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Cincinnati Top Four in Final College Football Playoff Ranking


The final 2021 College Football Playoff ranking was released on Sunday, December 5.

Alabama, Michigan, Georgia and future Big 12-member Cincinnati are the top four and will play for the national championship.

Cincinnati becomes the first team from a Power 5 Conference to be one of the four teams in the College Football Playoff.

Alabama and Cincinnati will play in the Cotton Bowl on December 31. Michigan and Georgia will play in the Orange Bowl on December 31. The two winners will play for the national championship on January 10 in Indianapolis.

Big 12 teams Baylor and Oklahoma State are ranked seventh and ninth, respectively. Big 12 traitor Oklahoma is ranked 16th. 

Future Big 12-member BYU is ranked 13th.

Baylor will play Ole Miss, in the Sugar Bowl, in New Orleans, Louisiana, on January 1, 2022. 

Oklahoma State will play Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, on January 1, 2022.

Oklahoma will play Oregon in the Alamo Bowl on December 29.

BYU will play UAB in the Independence Bowl on December 28.

Associated Press 2021 Week 15 Football Bowl Subdivision Top 25 Poll Includes Two Big 12 Teams, One Big 12 Traitor


The 2021 Associated Press Week 15 Football Bowl Subdivision Top 25 Poll includes two Big 12 teams, Baylor (#6) and Oklahoma State (#9), and one Big 12 traitor, Oklahoma (#14). 

Baylor (11-2), which beat Oklahoma State, 21-16, in the Big 12 Championship Game has 1,228 points. Oklahoma State (11-2), which won the Big 12 regular-season championship, has 1,060 points. Oklahoma (10-2) has 807 points.

This season marks the 86th edition of the AP rankings.

The Associated Press began its college football poll on October 19, 1936. It is the longest-running poll of those that award national titles at the end of the season. The preseason poll was started in 1950. A panel of 60 sports writers and broadcasters from around the country votes on the poll weekly. The AP Top 25 is determined by a simple points system based on how each voter ranks the teams. A team receives 25 points for each first- place vote, 24 for second place and so on through to the 25th team, which receives one point. The rankings are set by listing the point totals from highest to lowest.
