(photos above and below) On Saturday, September 13, Abilene Christian University became the latest victim of TCU in Amon G. Carter Stadium, in Fort Worth, Texas. In their 2025 season home-opener, the Horned Frogs dominated the Wildcats, 42-21. TCU
has won 22 of its last 24 home-openers. |

(photos above and below) Over the past two months, Texans have used green ribbons
with bows to commemorate the lives lost in the July 4 Hill Country flooding,
which killed more than 100 people, including more than two dozen girls and
counselors from Camp Mystic in Hunt. Green is significant because it’s Camp
Mystic’s official color. For the september slate of games, several Texas
college football teams, including TCU, sported ribbons, in the form of a
special decal on players’ helmets depicting an outline of the state of Texas
with a green bow at its center. TCU players again wore the helmet decals in the
September 13 home game against Abilene Christian. TCU’s initial show of
solidarity with victims and their loved ones originated with TCU head coach Sonny Dykes’ wife, Kate.

During halftime of the TCU football game against Abilene Christian University, the TCU Marching Band presented five new members of its "TCU Band of Fame," which is managed by the TCU Ex-Bandsmen Association. The honorees were Dr. Kevin Day, Dr. Michael Ryan, Dr. Brian West, David Williams and Tony Yarbrough. |

During the TCU-Abilene Christian University football game, TCU's championship teams were introduced and honored. The teams included the national champion beach volleyball team and the women's basketball team, which won the Big 12 Conference regular-season title and Big 12 Conference tournament title and advanced to the Elite 8 round of the NCAA women's tournament. |

TCU fans are being urged to buy their tickets early to the 2026 Aer Lingus Football Classic, which will feature TCU playing the University of North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland, on August 29, 2026. This will mark the first time the Horned Frogs have played abroad. TCU will serve as the home team. It will be a rematch of the Horned Frogs and the Tar Heels. In the two teams'season-opener on September 6, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, TCU defeated North Carolina 48-14. With the 42-21 win over Abilene Christian University on September 13, TCU improved to 2-0. The Horned Frogs' next game is against SMU, at 11 am (Central), on Saturday, September 20, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, on the TCU campus. ESPN2 will televise the game nationally. |
