Thousands of TCU fans turned Santa Monica, California, purple in the days
leading up to the TCU-Georgia College Football National Championship Game, and
especially on Sunday, January 8, when Horned Frogs Nation celebrated at a pep
rally. Santa Monica Santa is a coastal city west of downtown Los Angeles. Santa
Monica Beach is fringed by Palisades Park, with views over the Pacific Ocean.
Santa Monica Pier is home to the Pacific Park amusement park, historic Looff
Hippodrome Carousel and Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Next to the pier is Muscle
Beach, an outdoor gym established in the 1930s. In the city center, Bergamot
Station houses several art galleries. Santa Monica’s 2020 U.S. Census
population was 93,076. TCU's pep rally featured Santa Monica Mayor Sue Himmelrich, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker, TCU Chancellor Victor Boschini, TCU Athletics Director Jeremiah Donati, former TCU baseball star Bryan Holaday, former TCU football star and Super Bowl champion Marshall Newhouse, and numerous other former and current TCU athletes.
