TCU's 2023 football schedule has been released, its first-ever as part of a 14-team Big 12 Conference. Kickoff times and TV details will be announced at a later date.
The Big 12 for the 2023 season will feature 14 teams, with the addition of BYU, Central Florida, Houston and Cincinnati.
In 2023, each conference
team will play nine conference games and three non-conference games, for a 12-game season.
For
the 2023 season, the Horned Frogs will play seven home games, including
five of its first seven games and four of its nine Big 12 conference
games.
In conference play, TCU will play West Virginia, BYU, Texas and Baylor in Fort Worth. TCU will play conference road games against Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
The Horned Frogs will play a Thursday night game against Texas Tech and a Friday night game against Oklahoma.
In 2023, TCU will not play Central
Florida, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State and Kansas.
The Frogs will kick off the Big 12's 28th season of football on Saturday, September 16, with an away game at new conference-member Houston.
TCU and Houston will meet on the gridiron for the first time since the 2007 Texas Bowl, when Andy Dalton led the Horned Frogs to a 20-13 victory over Case Keenum and the Cougars. TCU and UH last met in the regular season in 2004, when both were members of Conference USA.
On October 14, the Horned Frogs will host new conference-member BYU. It will be the first time TCU and BYU have played each other on the gridiron since 2011. TCU and BYU were together in the Mountain West from 2005-11.
TCU will have a bye on Saturday, October 28.
For the 2023 season, TCU is projected to return 11 starters, including seven on defense, from its 2022 team.
TCU's 2022 team won the Big 12's regular season with a 9-0 record. The Horned Frogs were the first Big 12 team to go 9-0 in conference play since Oklahoma in 2016.
TCU finished the 2022 season with a 13-2 record, ranked second in the country. The Frogs lost the Big 12 Conference Championship Game to Kansas State and the College Football Playoff National Championship Game to Georgia. TCU beat Michigan in a College Football Playoff National Championship Semifinal Game.

The 2023 Big 12 Conference Championship Game will be held on December 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
