TCU's Football Staff Gets New Members

TCU Football has added the following new staff members:

  • Gordon Sammis, offensive coordinator. He replaces Kendal Briles, who has become South Carolina’s offensive coordinator. Comes to TCU following a five-year run at UConn. For the past two seasons, Sammis UConn’s offensive coordinator. An offensive line coach by trade and tradition, Sammis served as the Huskies offensive line coach for three seasons prior to taking over the offense. Prior to UConn, Sammis spent three seasons (2019-21) as the offensive line coach at William & Mary. The final two seasons, he was the run game coordinator. Experiences prior to W&M included two-year stints at Lafayette College (2017-18) and Virginia Military Institute (2015-16). He also coached at Columbia for three seasons (2012-14), working with the tight ends and offensive line.
  • Brad Robbins, quarterbacks coach. He replaces Kendal Briles, who in addition to having been offensive coordinator was also TCU’s quarterbacks coach. Most recently, Robbins served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Tulsa during the 2025 season. In 2024, he worked with UConn’s offense, with new TCU offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis. Prior to UConn, Robbins spent the 2023 season at Tennessee Tech as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach and the three seasons before that (2020-22) at North Greenville as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. His coaching career has also included stops at Charleston Southern (2018), VMI (2013-17), and Virginia (2010-12).
  • Antonio Wilcox, running backs coach. He replaces Jimmy Smith, who has become Georgia Tech’s running backs coach. Wilcox most recently coached running backs at UConn, working alongside new TCU offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis. Wilcox spent three seasons (2023-25) with the Huskies. Prior to UConn, Wilcox spent two seasons at his Alma mater, Furman (2021-22). Wilcox spent three seasons (2018-20) at North Greenville University. He first worked as a graduate assistant with the running backs before a full-time promotion to coach wide receivers in his last season.
  • Darl Bauer, assistant athletics director/director of football human performance. He replaces Kaz Kazadi, who has left TCU. In his role, Bauer will lead a team of professionals charged with the development of the Horned Frogs' strength, conditioning and speed efforts. Bauer comes to TCU from Troy, where he spent the prior two years. Prior to Troy, he spent five seasons at Houston and 10 years at West Virginia. Bauer is a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), the highest distinction in the strength profession.
  • Kevin McCadam, director of Speed and Performance. 
  • John Porchivina, assistant director, Football Strength and Performance.
  • Shaq Lee, assistant director, Football Strength and Performance. 
  • Aaron Green, assistant coach, running backs. Prior to his move to the coaching staff, Green returned to TCU as an  assistant director of player personnel. He helped build the recruiting classes and evaluate the roster. As a former TCU running back,Green rushed for 2,426 yards and 20 touchdowns during his playing career with the Horned Frogs (2013-15). A two-time All-Big 12 honoree, Green spent time in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills. After he concluded his playing days, Green began his coaching career as an offensive analyst at UTSA in his hometown of San Antonio.
