2024 Midnite Madness TCU-Oklahoma State Football Game Photos

TCU's game against Oklahoma State on Saturday, November 9, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, in Fort Worth, Texas, was billed as "Hail All Heroes" Night. Throughout the evening, first responders were honored for their service. TCU won the game, 38-13, improving to 6-4 overall, 4-3 in the Big 12. The attendance was announced as 45,348. With their sixth win, the Horned Frogs became bowl-eligible.

The Fort Worth Fire Department's Color Guard presented the colors for the Star-Spangled Banner.

(photos above and below) TCU's honorary captain for its game against Oklahoma State was TCU letter-winner Bob Lilly, who played for the Horned Frogs from 1958-1960. He was the first-ever draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys, in the first round of the 1961 National Football League Draft. He was a defensive lineman for the Cowboys for 14 season, from 1961-1974. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and he is in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor. He is 85 years old. Joining Lily as TCU's game captains were (from left to right) Bud Clark (#21), Savion Williams (#3), Brent Matiscik (#42) and Josh Hoover (#10).

Against Oklahoma State, TCU's offense totaled 468 yards; 293 passing yards and 175 rushing yards. Of the total passing yards, 211 of the yards were gained by these four receivers (left to right): Jack Bech (#18), Eric McAlister (#88), Jordyn Bailey (#14) and PJ Richardson (#7). TCU scored for the 404th consecutive game, the second-longest streak in NCAA history. No. 1 is Florida at 457 games (1988-present). The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since November 16, 1991, at Texas (32-0).

(photos above and below) TCU sophomore quarterback Josh Hoover (#10), who is on the Davey O'Brien Award watch list, led the Horned Frogs to victory over Oklahoma State with 286 passing yards. He completed 26-of-35 passes. He threw one touchdown pass. He did not throw an interception and was sacked only once.

(photos above and below) TCU senior wide receiver PJ Richardson (#7), a transfer from Oklahoma State, was the Horned Frogs' leading receiver against Oklahoma State. He caught seven passes for 100 yards. He had a long reception of 34 yards. It was the third career 100-yard receiving game for Richardson. He has at least one catch in 37 consecutive games, tying for the seventh-longest streak in the nation.

(photos above and below) TCU senior wide receiver Jack Bech (#18), a transfer from LSU, was the Horned Frogs' second-leading receiver against Oklahoma State. He caught five passes for 59 yards. He had a long reception of 25 yards. Bech is 18 yards shy of becoming the sixth player in TCU history with a 1,000-yard receiving season.

(photos above and below) Against Oklahoma State, TCU senior wide receiver Savion Williams had 72 total yards of offense. He caught seven passes for 52 yards. He rushed five times for 19 yards. He completed a one-yard pass.

Williams scored a touchdown on a six-yard reception and a touchdown on an one-yard run. It was the second time in the last three games that Williams has had a receiving and rushing touchdown in the same game. Williams has a career-high six receiving touchdowns this season and 14 in his career, tops among active Horned Frogs. The touchdown run was Williams' second of the season and of his career.

(photos above and below) Against Oklahoma State, TCU junior wide receiver Eric McAlister (#88), a transfer from Boise State, made his first start of the season. He caught three passes for 41 yards. He had a long reception of 21 yards.

TCU redshirt freshman wide receiver Jordyn Bailey (#14) had a 59-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter of TCU's 38-13 victory over Oklahoma State. It is the second straight game in which he has scored a touchdown. Bailey caught two passes for 11 yards against the Cowboys. His 59 rushing yards led the Horned Frogs.

(photos above and below) TCU sophomore running back Cam Cook (#4) was TCU's second-leading rusher against Oklahoma State. He rushed seven times for 47 yards. He had a long run of 18 yards. He scored two rushing touchdowns, to give him a team-best eight on the season. This was Cook's second career game in which he scored multiple touchdowns.

TCU freshman kicker Kyle Lemmermann (#34) kicked a 32-yard field goal early in the first quarter against Oklahoma State. Later in the first quarter, he missed a 44-yard field goal attempt.

(photos above and below) Against Oklahoma State, TCU senior linebackers Johnny Hodges (#57), a transfer from Navy, and Namdi Obiazor (#4) led a Horned Frogs' defense that bounced back from the prior week's last-second 37-34 loss to Baylor, during which the TCU defense could not hold a TCU lead. TCU shut out the Cowboys in the first half and held OSU to two scores in the second half. Hodges and Obiazor had a combined 13 tackles. Obiazor had eight tackles, Hodges five. Hodges also was credited with a half of a tackle for loss.

TCU sophomore sophomore safety Jamel Johnson (#2) tackles Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II (#0). Gordon rushed 25 times for 121 yards against the Horned Frogs, but TCU's defense held him to one touchdown run, and they also forced him to lose a fumble. The Frogs' defense also held the Cowboys to one passing touchdown, intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble.

(photos above and below) Against Oklahoma State, TCU senior safety Abe Camara (#1) was the Frogs' third-leading tackler. He had six tackles, including a half of a tackle for a loss. He also recovered a fumble by Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II.

TCU junior linebacker Devean Deal (#11), a transfer from Tulane, had five tackles against Oklahoma State, including a tackle for a loss.

(photos above and below) TCU senior defensive lineman NaNa Osafo-Mensah (#54), a transfer from Notre Dame, sacks Oklahoma State quarterback Alan Bowman (#7). It was Mensah's second sack of the season. He also had four tackles, including a tackle for a loss.

Against Oklahoma State, TCU true  freshman defensive lineman Travis Jackson (#96) had his first career sack, which resulted in a 23-yard loss, and his first career interception, with a 22-yard return.

(photos above and below) TCU junior safety Bud Clark (#21) forced a fumble by Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II. The football was recovered by senior safety Abe Camara (#1).

(photos above and below) TCU safety Bud Clark intercepts a pass against Oklahoma State. It was his second interception of the season and the ninth of his career, most among active Horned Frogs. Along with the interception, Clark had a team-best eight tackles and a forced fumble. Clark's eight tackles were one shy of a career-high nine, which he set against Colorado last season.

(photos above and below) Oklahoma State redshirt senior quarterback Alan Bowman (#7) completed 19-of-29 passes for 141 yards against TCU. He threw one touchdown pass and one interception and he was sacked once.

(photos above and below) Oklahoma State's leading receivers against TCU were redshirt junior wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling (#1) and senior wide receiver Brennan Presley (#80). Stribling caught seven passes for 101 yards. He caught one touchdown pass, an eight-yard scoring toss in the fourth quarter. He had a long reception of 31 yards. Presley caught 10 passes for 75 yards. He had a long reception of 18 yards. Coming into the game, Presley needed only seven catches to set the Oklahoma State record for career receptions.

(photos above and below) Against the Horned Frogs, Oklahoma State redshirt junior running back Trent Howland (#24) rushed eight times for 47 yards. Oklahoma State ran for a net 135 yards against TCU's defense.

OSU's 12th man? During their 38-13 loss to TCU, the Oklahoma State Cowboys probably wished they could have had 12 offensive players against TCU's 11 defenders, or 12 defenders against the Horned Frogs' offense.

With eight tackles, sophomore safety Dylan Smith (#11) was Oklahoma State's leading tackler against TCU.

Redshirt junior safety Kendal Daniels (#5) was the Cowboys' third-leading tackler against TCU. He made five tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss.

TCU will have a few extra days to enjoy its 38-13 win over Oklahoma State. The Horned Frogs have a bye on Saturday, November 16. The Frogs' next game is against Arizona, on Saturday, November 23, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, in Fort Worth, Texas. Kickoff time and TV information is to be announced. TCU's final regular-season game of the 2024 season will be against the University of Cincinnati, on Saturday, November 30, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kickoff time and TCU information is to be announced. Bowl game information will be announced in early December.

(photos above and below) Starring in the traditional Riff-Ram video during the TCU-Oklahoma State game were former TCU quarterback Andy Dalton, who led the Frogs to a 21-19 Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin on January 1, 2011, and Lauren Muckleroy, widow of Zach Muckleroy, who was a former TCU football player and a third-generation TCU graduate. Muckleroy played for the Horned Frogs in 1998, when the team beat USC in the Sun Bowl. Muckleroy's father, Harold, played defensive back for TCU from 1971–1972. His grandparents, John and Ellen Saunders, also graduated from TCU. After graduating in 2002, Muckleroy took over the family business, Muckleroy & Falls, a commercial general contracting firm. In November 2023, Muckleroy, his 12-year-old son Judson and his nine-year-old daughter Lindsay died in a car crash while traveling to see family. His wife Lauren was the only survivor of the crash and was in critical condition. After the tragedy, a Zach Muckleroy Scholarship was established at TCU and TCU Football’s First Down Frogs Women's Clinic benefits the scholarship. During the game a $50,000 check for the scholarship fund was presented (photo below). Dalton was Judson's favorite TCU football player.

November 9 was not only the day that TCU became bowl-eligible with a 38-13 win over Oklahoma State, it also was the 55th birthday of TCU head football coach Sonny Dykes, so it was a memorable birthday celebration for the coach, and the team.
