Below are some NCAA and TCU rules that apply to TCU boosters.
- Your contributions and support of TCU's athletic program qualify you as a representative of athletics interests, or a TCU booster. You retain this designation in perpetuity.
- Contact with current team members is permissible (e.g., in-person conversations, email, social media connections). If you connect with team members, please make sure the coaching and/or compliance staff is aware and be mindful that this platform is aimed toward the development of our student-athletes. Conversations about team information, recruiting (e.g., prospective student-athletes), and the provision of benefits to team members and/or their friends and family are prohibited.
- You may assist team members with career development, including identifying and facilitating internship and employment opportunities. Please be mindful that TCU and NCAA guidelines require that student- athletes follow the parameters below regarding employment:
- Compensation must be based on actual work performed.
- Compensation must align with the going rate for the same/similar position.
- Compensation may not be based on athletics ability, reputation, or value.
- All employment must be registered with the compliance office.
- You are permitted to engage in Name, Image, or Likeness (NIL) activities with student-athletes provided they are current members of a TCU roster. Under no circumstances may you engage in NIL conversations with prospective student-athletes. Questions about the NIL process or how to get involved should be directed to the Athletics Compliance Office or Student-Athlete Experience and Brand Management. Contact information below.
- You may host the team or an individual student-athlete for an occasional meal in your home or at an on-campus establishment. Such meals must be approved in advance. Contact the compliance office for approval.
- You may not provide benefits of any value to team members and/or their family or friends. This includes, but is not limited to gifts, cash, discounts, services, and access to anything not available to the general public (e.g., suites, VIP passes, travel costs for families, etc.). Please remember that receipt of extra benefits, directly or indirectly, impacts and compromises student-athlete eligibility.
- Contact with or providing benefits to prospective student-athletes (i.e., recruits) and their family or friends is PROHIBITED. You may not recruit on behalf of TCU, but you may pass along information on prospects to the coaching staff.
- Contact the compliance office in advance of any involvement in recruiting activities
