2024 TCU-Long Island University Football Game Photos

In its 2024 football season home-opener on Saturday, September 7, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, the TCU Horned Frogs defeated Long Island University 45-0. Long Island plays in the Northeast Conference. The only other such conference team TCU has faced is Duquesne, which TCU defeated 45-3 n 2021. The Frogs are 8-2 all-time against teams from New York: 6-0 vs Army; 1-0- vs Syracuse; 1-0 vs Long Island University; and 0-2 vs Fordham. TCU is now 2-0. The Frogs have started a season 2-0 for the third time in the last four years, the sixth time in the last eight years, the eighth time in the last 11 years, the 12th time in the last 17 years and the 15th time in the last 22 years.

(photos above and below) Attendance for TCU's 2024 season home-opener was 44,063, which included 6,153 students, the fourth largest student attendance at a football game in school history and nearly 50 percent of TCU's total enrollment.

(photos above and below) Against Long Island, TCU's offense racked up 425 total yards; 298 yards passing and 127 yards rushing.

TCU sophomore quarterback Josh Hoover (10) directed TCU's offense against Long Island. He completed 20-of-25 passes for 267 yards, including a long completion of 46 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions. He completed 14 consecutive passes in the first half, which tied a TCU single-game record set by Jeff Ballard against San Diego State in 2006.

Against Long Island University, junior quarterback Ken Seals (19), who transferred prior to this season to TCU from Vanderbilt, saw his first game action as a Horned Frog. He completed three-of-four passes for 16 yards. He ran two times for 10 yards.

Freshman backup quarterback Hauss Hejny (1) was injured in TCU's season-opener against Stanford on Friday, August 31. During the Frogs' win over Long Island, Hejny was relegated to learning on the TCU sideline.
TCU sophomore running back Cam Cook (4) ran 13 times for 58 yards against the Sharks. He scored three touchdowns, on runs of one yard, 12 yards and five yards.

Cook's three rushing touchdowns are the most by a Horned Frog since Trey Sanders ran for three in the 2023 opener against Colorado. Cook has a team-best four rushing scores on the season.

(photos above and below) TCU junior running back Dominique Johnson (20), a transfer from the University of Arkansas, rushed seven times for 26 yards against Long Island University. He scored one touchdown, on a run of two yards in the second quarter of the game.


TCU junior wide receiver Eric McAlister (88), a transfer from Boise State, signals a first down for the Horned Frogs after one of his two receptions for 54 yards against the Sharks. He had a long reception of 37 yards. The two catches against Long Island were his first as a Horned Frog.

Against Long Island, TCU senior wide receiver Savion Williams (3) caught five passes for 69 yards. He had a long catch of 26 yards. He led TCU in receiving for the second straight game. In addition, on an option play, Williams, a former high school quarterback, completed his first collegiate pass -- a 15-yarder to wide receiver Jo Jo Earle.

TCU senior wide receiver Jo Jo Earle (11), a transfer from the University of Alabama, caught three passes against the Sharks for 24 yards, including a five-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

(photos above and below) Long Island quarterback Luca Stanzani (11) and running back Ludovick Choquette (9) accounted for 85 of the Sharks' 127 yards of total offense. Stanzani completed eight-of-18 passes for 60 yards. He threw one interception and was sacked once. He ran five times for 12 yards. Choquette ran six times for 13 yards.

(photos above and below) TCU senior defensive lineman Na Na Osafo-Mensah (54), a transfer from Notre Dame, had his first sack as a Horned Frog. He had five sacks during his time at Notre Dame.

TCU true freshman kicker Kyle Lemmermann (34) kicked a career-long 48-yard field goal against Long Island. The field goal early in the first quarter gave TCU a 3-0 lead. Later in the first quarter, Lemmermann missed a 44-yard field goal attempt.

TCU women's basketball player Hailey Van Lith, a graduate student transfer from LSU, starred in the Riff-Ram video during the TCU-Long Island football game. Van Lith was one of a record nine current or former TCU student-athletes represented at the Summer Olympics in Paris. She won a bronze medal as a member of the USA women's 3x3 basketball team. Van Lith was the only active collegian who was selected to a USA Basketball men's or women's team in 5-on-5 or 3x3 competition.
