Texas has been picked atop the Big 12 Conference’s 2023 preseason poll, as voted on
by media representatives. The Longhorns amassed 41 first-place votes and 886 points overall.
TCU, the 2022 regular-season Big 12 champion and coming off appearances and losses in the Big 12 Championship Game and the College Football Playoff Championship Game, has been picked fifth. The Frogs garnered three first-place votes and 727 points overall.
Kansas State, who beat TCU in the Big 12 Championship Game, has been picked second, followed by Oklahoma and Texas Tech is second with 14 and 858 points.
Newcomers UCF, BYU, Houston and Cincinnati were picked eighth, 11th, 12th and 13th, respectively.
West Virginia was picked to finish in last place.
