Here is information about the 2020-21 College Football Playoff. Of course, the coronavirus pandemic could have an impact on the 2020 college football season and the 2020-21 College Football Playoff.
The College Football Playoff selection committee
ranks the teams based on the members’ evaluation of the teams’ performance on
the field, using conference championships won, strength of schedule,
head-to-head results, and comparison of results against common opponents to
decide among teams that are comparable.
The kickoff of the new year belongs to college football, with two semifinal
games rotating annually among the Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Peach
Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl.
The two teams winning the playoff semifinals compete for the College Football
Playoff National Championship. That game is in a different city each year,
always on a Monday night.
