The award, created by the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation, was open to nominations from Division I baseball programs in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico. This year’s watch list consists of 30 players representing 26 programs in the five states. The BBCSA is based on performance at the plate, academics and personal integrity.

Finalists will be named in May. The winner will be announced in June.

Lodolo is one of five Big 12 baseball student-athletes named to the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award watch list. The others are Cody Bradford (Baylor), Shea Langeliers (Baylor), Josh Jung (Baylor) and Alex Manoah (West Virginia).

The Golden Spikes Award watch list features 55 of the nation’s top amateur players, from high school and college baseball.
