TCU Beach Volleyball Team Wins 2025 National Championship

The second-seeded TCU beach volleyball team won its first national championship by beating fourth-seeded LMU (Loyola Marymount University) 3-2 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Sunday, May 4. The match was televised nationally by ESPN.

With the victory, TCU improved to 32-5 for the season and 7-6 all-time in the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. It was the Frogs first' victory over LMU this season, after two earlier losses in the season.

Olympians Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno clinched the match for TCU.  After taking a year off and coming back to Fort Worth, the duo won a three-set thriller at the No. 1 spot, 18-21, 21-15, 15-6.  The two never lost a dual match in the four years they had been to NCAA Tournament.

TCU completes its historic season on a 12-match winning streak.

This was TCU's first appearance in the NCAA Beach Volleyball NCAA Finals. The Frogs earned the berth with wins over seventh-seeded Texas and sixth-seeded Cal Poly on Saturday, May 3.

With their win over the Longhorns, the Horned Frogs stretched their lead in the all-time series to 4-0, and they improved to 42-0 all-time against teams from the Lone Star State.
